Day 6 - "It takes a little of love and you can heal the world"

22nd November 2013

Its the 6th day here in Kolkata and we're 1 day away from ending our trip here in Kolkata. Everyone is physically and mentally exhausted but together, we can do this!

Today, we went to our respective homes for our community work. And as usual, we are again being split up. However since today is our 3rd day at the homes, we all felt rather confident. We now know what we were up against and how to deal with any difficulties.

Today, the boys felt elated when we were warmly welcomed by the occupants as we alighted from the bus. Furthermore, they even prepared their cricket stumps and were ready to play cricket with us! That put a smile on our faces and made us look forward to working with them!

Sadly, after 3 hours, it was finally time for us to leave the home and part ways with the occupants for good :( It was an especially emotional moment for some of us like Irfan who has a made a steady friendship with one of the Occupants.

Also, we went to the Mother Theresa's Tomb and dropped off our used clothes as donations. At the Mother's tomb, it was rather serene and peaceful. We also received some gifts and tokens of appreciation from the Sister at the MotherHouse.

Lastly, We went to visit Tagores House. Tagore is a winner of the Nobel Prize of Literature and has reshaped the Bengalis Music and Literature. It was a massive land area which consisted of many of his artifacts such as his clothing, his literature works and also, his paintings!

And here are the pictures from day 6!
